There are three phases to the wound-repair process:

• Phase I: Inflammation. Piercing the skin triggers your immune system to disinfect the wounds, remove debris, increase blood flow and begin to create new tissue.

• Phase II: Proliferation. The wound is rebuilt with new granulation cells, which are part of the extracellular matrix. Additionally, a new network of blood vessels develops.

• Phase III: Remodeling. The wound is replaced with new dermal tissues and blood vessels.

WHAT DOES PLASMA PEN DO?

Nitrogen plasma energy transfers to the skins epidermal layer, whilst also heating and disrupting the deeper dermal structure. This micro-trauma affects the superficial epidermis, as well as a deeper zone within the dermis- particularly the fibre blasts.

Plasma Pen is an innovative fibroblasting device. FIRST 3-7 DAYS

In the first 3-7 days, tiny carbon crusts appear on the skin as a sign of the new epithelial tissue. These carbon crusts serve as natural and protective biological dressing, that will flake off naturally as the newly formed and rejuvenated skin appears underneath.

1-12 WEEKS POST TREATMENT

Plasma Pen is a highly technical and artistic process but it is not always an exact science. Technicians can never guarantee an exact shrinking, tightening, lifting or softening result due to individual skin elasticity, the individual healing process and a very wide range of other factors - not least your strict adherence to the aftercare regime recommended. Depending on the procedure being delivered; results immediately following a treatment session may only represent 30% to 50% of the final result. The full effect should then be assessed over the coming 12 weeks as the extensive epidermal and dermal remodelling we stimulate kicks in - which includes the formation of a new and rejuvenated neoepidermis, neocollagenesis, neoelastogensis and the reversal of elastotic change.

Depending on the patient, their individual skin and many other factors then some treatments will provide instant results. Others may require more than one treatment to achieve the desired outcome. Many treatments are complimentary and thus ideal to package up together to enjoy a discounted rate. Consequently; technicians never promise that one treatment will always be enough to achieve optimum results. Some results with some patients are, by design, cumulative for the greatest effects to be achieved (if very deep lines and/or significant glycation is present for example). You may be required to return for additional treatments before your overall procedure is deemed fully complete. The payment for any additional work, if applicable, will always be agreed with you prior to your treatment.

Treatments can be safely combined, often for a discounted rate, during the same treatment session and/or over the course of treatments or top-ups. Plasma Pen by Louise Walsh International is practically the only device where it is safe to combine upper and lower eyelid procedures together during the same treatment session.
